Gilbert AZ is quite a popular place to live in the Greater Phoenix Area.  With it’s agricultural roots, many choose Gilbert if they need a lot of land surrounding their home.  You can drive down one residential road and see farm life, and drive down another and find modern living with hip apartments and condominiums.  But the town jewel is the Gilbert Heritage District.

This district offers a very cool and wide variety of dining, shopping, events, arts and so much more.  Gilbert Heritage Distract is located in downtown Gilbert.  This is a great downtown area because it offers family friendly options as well as night life and events.

One of the things Heritage Distract is known for are the many dining options.  Among the most popular is Snooze AM Eatery.  For one of the best breakfasts of your life, head to Snooze.  Their menu in phenomenal and the atmosphere is very hip.  Another dining destination is Joe’s Real BBQ.  This is a great family restaurant that does BBQ right!  If cocktails are on your agenda, 12 West Brewing offers craft beer and tacos.  And Garage-East offers wine on the patio!

If you are into the outdoors you can visit beautiful Freestone Park, that even has a train ride!  Or you can opt to stroll the Gilbert Farmers Market on Saturdays.

Upcoming events include the Gilbert Art Walk, which is a recurring event.  The Art Walk takes place October – March, every first and third Saturday of the month.  Best of all this event is free, as well as pet friendly, so even your furry family members can attend.  You can find almost any type of art from ceramics to photography to live music.  Being right across from the farmers market, you can go to both and make a day of it!

Another recurring event in the Gilbert Heritage District is the Made with Love Market.  Hand crafted and local pop-up shops are set up for you to stroll and shop.  There are even hands-on events provided by some of the local vendors.  Think of this as an in-person walking tour of Etsy!  This event also takes place on select Saturdays.

With so much to do in this area, you can’t go wrong.  Locals and travelers alike love this family-friendly and date worthy district.  They are also loving the support of local and sustainable goods provided by the Farmers Market, Art Walk and Made with Love Market.  To see scheduled event guides or restaurant information please visit
