Infotainment systems have started to become standard in various automobiles ranging from inexpensive Kia’s to luxury Mercedes Benz. Most of these infotainment systems are compatible with iOS and Android, and the ones that don’t have some form of in-car operating system that developers can work on and port applications and services to.

The next service you might be seeing on your infotainment dashboard is Domino’s Pizza, which recently announced a partnership with Xevo a global leader of in-vehicle commerce & services for auto manufacturers. The service known as AnyWare Pizza will allow users to order Domino’s Pizza using Domino’s Easy Order feature, track the status of their order with the Domino’s Tracker ®, and even locate their local store and call in their order direct from their car if they so choose.

In a press release Chris Roeser, director of digital experience at Domino’s, said “At Domino’s, we want pizza ordering to be simple and always within reach, no matter where a customer happens to be. This new AnyWare platform will make ordering pizza easy, whether you’re in the car waiting for the kids to finish soccer practice or you’re on your way home from work.”

In the same press release Brian Woods, chief marketing officer at Xevo said “We’re excited to work with Domino’s, and to have them join the Xevo Market platform, which is already live in millions of vehicles on the road today. Domino’s is the world’s largest pizza company, and they’ve always been technological innovators. Xevo Market makes it possible for Domino’s to reach people directly in their cars, streamlining mobile ordering to help busy consumers save time.”

However, this isn’t the first time Domino’s has done something like this. Most Ford Vehicles with SYNC ® AppLink ™ allow for Easy Ordering using voice commands. However, this will be the first-time that Domino’s services will be pre-loaded into a car’s infotainment system with the only thing the end user has to do is link their account to the AnyWare service through Xevo.

The AnyWare Pizza Platform is expected to be pre-loaded into cars with the Xevo platform starting in late 2019. However, if you’re anxious to see how this works Xevo will be demonstrating how the Xevo Market in-vehicle experience works live at the Restaurant Leadership Conference in Phoenix, Arizona April 7-10. It’s unsure whether or not this will be a complete success, but it will make ordering pizza a lot more convenient for those who enjoy Domino’s style of pizza.
